Russell helps young pianist release her
‘Inner Performer’

Holly's Story

There’s no doubt about it, young Holly Albuquerque is an exceptional musician; gifted with a prodigious talent that reaches way beyond her 11 years. Naturally, her parents Charmaine and Darryl are immensely proud of her and have hopes that one day she might even become a concert pianist.

However, one thing was holding this young virtuoso back; although she was happy to perform in front of her family and tutors, when faced with any other audience she would feel out of her comfort zone and unable to perform at the levels that she would normally do.

Performance anxiety can strike even the most polished of players, interrupting the flow that is necessary to create a state of complete unity between performer and music, making the performance seem effortless.

Mum and Dad were at a loss to know how to help Holly conquer this possibly career limiting issue, until they read about Russell’s ground breaking work helping gifted young people unlock their potential and achieve great things. Hoping that he could do the same for Holly, they didn’t waste any time getting in touch with him.

Using his own unique brand of coaching combined with hypnotherapy, Russell progressively built up Holly’s confidence and sense of self-belief, whilst at the same time teaching her those all important relaxation skills that allow musicians to lose themselves in the music. After a number of sessions, Holly felt ready to see if all their hard work together had made a difference.

The Hemmings Way
“It was so moving for me to see Holly walk out on that stage at school in front of so many parents and play the beautiful music I know she is capable of sharing,” recalls dad Darryl. “Before we met Russell, Holly's nerves would invariably get the better of her, often resulting in a stressful situation for her to cope with. Now she’s a different girl altogether. She practices her relaxation exercises almost as much as her piano and the work Russell has done to strengthen her inner confidence has worked wonders. We can’t thank him enough for helping Holly overcome this huge stumbling block to her future. She’s happier, more outgoing and ready to take up the chance to perform any time it comes her way. Thanks again Russell!
