Stress

Russell Hemmings
Stressed to breaking point? The tightness in the jaw, the tension in the shoulders, the nausea in the pit of your stomach. Just some of the symptoms of being so stressed that you can’t think straight, you can’t sleep properly and you feel like you’re constantly running on empty.

Seeing the signs before the STOP sign
Prolonged stress can be very damaging to both your physical health and mental well-being and that’s why it’s vital to recognise the signs and do something about it before you hit that wall.

Living life in the fast lane week in week out can exact a heavy toll on our physical and emotional wellbeing and often the process of striving for the things we think will make us happy, can actually have the opposite effect, leaving us feeling stressed and exhausted.

Sometimes we become so habituated to the way we feel that we don’t know when we are suffering from prolonged exposure to stress – it just starts to feel ‘normal’. It’s only when we stop and wind down that we realize just how stressed we have been.

So how can you tell if you’re suffering from stress? Well, you may have physical symptoms; constant aches and pains, dizziness, feeling sick, frequent colds and heart palpitations are just some of the common signs. You may also feel irritable or angry, unable to relax, overwhelmed by the smallest of issues or feel a general detachment from the world as if you’re observing yourself from the sidelines.

So, don’t let stress beat you, defeat it with my help and take life in a more measured stride again.
